ICT managers and senior team leaders will find advice and services in this section focusing on maximising technical support and managing ICT staff.
In particular Becta has developed a Framework for ICT Technical Support (FITS) which aims to provide a reliable and effective ICT infrastructure. There are separate process groups covering the areas of technical support in schools and colleges and advice to help them implement the framework.
FITS Getting Started
Primary schools and schools that rely on an external provider for the majority of their ICT management and support will require less of the FITS processes than larger establishments. For this reason we have defined a 'FITS Getting Started' set of processes. These form phase one of the full implementation of FITS that we recommend all establishments implement and are key to establishing a reliable and effective ICT infrastructure.

Secondary schools and schools that have an internal ICT support team for the majority of their ICT management and support will benefit from the full framework of FITS processes.
