Costs of ICT Mark assessment
Use of the self-review framework and online tools are free. However, there is a charge for the assessment and accreditation of the ICT Mark. This covers the costs of assessor time for preparation and visit, moderation, certification and ongoing quality assurance.
Maintained UK schools
The below fees are subsidised by Becta. (Plus additional travel and subsistence costs if the assessor is from another UK country or province.)
- Primary schools with less than 100 pupils: £400
- Primary schools with more than 100 pupils: £500
- Secondary schools: £600.
Independent UK schools
Independent schools are required to pay the full administration charge, which is £150, in addition to the above fees. (Plus additional travel and subsistence costs if the assessor is from another UK country or province.)
- Primary schools with less than 100 pupils:
£400 + £150 - Primary schools with more than 100 pupils:
£500 + £150 - Secondary schools: £600 + £150.
British Forces schools
The below fees are subsidised by Becta. (Plus additional travel and subsistence for an ICT Mark assessor to travel from England.)
- Primary schools with less than 100 pupils: £400
- Primary schools with more than 100 pupils: £500
- Secondary schools: £600.
International schools (schools outside the UK)
International schools are required to pay the full administration charge of £150 in addition to the standard fees. They will also pay travel and subsistence for an ICT Mark assessor to travel from England.
- Primary schools with less than 100 pupils:
£400 + £150 + travel and subsistence - Primary schools with more than 100 pupils:
£500 + £150 + travel and subsistence - Secondary schools: £600 + £150 + travel and subsistence.
Local authorities, support and service providers may be able to provide an accredited assessor and include assessment costs as part of a package of services – contact your local provider for details of their self-review framework and ICT Mark accreditation services and costs.
Becta has funded the development of the ICT Mark scheme, the training and accreditation of assessors, the development of online tools and the administration costs of managing the accreditation.
